School Council

Our school council meets fortnightly during Thursday lunch times. Each class, from year 1 - 6, is represented by two pupils which means there are 24 children in total who attend our meetings. We discuss any issues raised by children across the school, as well as, thinking about school projects and how we can improve our school even further. This year we have been focussing on raising money for different charities and are beginning to think about how we can raise money to buy some exciting playground equipment.

Red Nose Day 2015:

We made our faces funny for money this year for Red Nose day and wore mufti. We also sold red noses and everyone was very keen to collect all designs (or even find the golden nose!) At lunch time we raised money by doing face painting and selling cakes that we made throughout the week as a school council. After the government doubled our total we raised an amazing total of £1932.46! Thank you to everyone who donated. What a fantastic result!

Children in Need:
We had a mufti day for Children in Need and as a school council we organised selling Pudsey bear biscuits. Everyone was very generous and we managed to raise a fantastic total of £504.61!

Ernesettle Cake Sale:
We organised a cake sale with the ECO club and, in return for wearing mufti, children brought donations of cakes to sell at the cake sale. We had a huge amount of cakes available to sell - thank you to everyone's generosity! The school council and staff worked hard to sell as many as possible and we raised an amazing total of £229! This money will be used to create our sustainable ECO area on the school grounds.

The Henry Hallam Appeal:
As a school council we decided to support our local charity, The Henry Hallam Appeal. We heard about his story and how 4 year old Henry has neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer. He needs to raise £500,000 for treatment and we wanted to help. We had a purple mufti day and also sold small Easter eggs and lollies to raise as much money as possible. Thanks to the community's support we managed to raise a huge £533.64!
