In Geography, we’ll be finding out about restaurants in the local area; where our food comes from; which foods are produced locally and how food travels to the shop or supermarket. In Science, we will explore how fruits and vegetables grow; how we can grow our own food in the classroom and why a balanced diet is important.
In Design and Technology we will look at creating a healthy menu for a restaurant. We will consider everyday recipes and identify ways in which they might be improved. For our learning in Art we will be making close observational studies of fruit and vegetables, creating collages and experimenting with fruit and vegetable printing.
In English, we will continue to develop our fiction writing with a focus on The Wind in The Willows by Kenneth Grahame. We will then move on to performing a range of poetry by using inspirational poems performed by Julia Donaldson.
In our Maths learning, we will be concentrating on multiplication and division as well as geometric reasoning.
Homework books will be sent home each Friday and children are expected to bring in one piece of completed homework each week. Please continue to listen to your child read at least three times a week and help them to learn their weekly spellings.
