In History, we will explore the main events, dates and characteristics of Ancient Egypt, learning about the lives of people in those periods through the exploration of artefacts. In Art, we will focus on how Ancient Egyptian artists used forms, materials and processes to decorate their tombs, buildings and belongings, choosing the appropriate materials and techniques.
In Computing, children will create their own Egyptian-themed comics using storyboard software to animate characters. They will explore features such as creating a background, inputting main characters and speech bubbles.
In English, children will extend and apply their understanding of vocabulary, conjunctions, openers and punctuation through Myths and Legends of Ancient Egypt, as well as creating a report based around Ancient Egypt.
In Maths, children will continue to practise written and drawn methods for addition, subtraction and fractions, focussing on applying these skills to word problems and investigations.
Homework books will be sent home each Friday and children are expected to bring in one piece of completed homework each week. Please continue to listen to your child read at least three times a week and help them to learn their weekly spellings.
Finally, your child will take part in weekly PE lessons and therefore their PE kits will be required to be in school at all times.
