We hope you’ve had an enjoyable summer holidays. Over the next term, Year 6 will be following a unit of work that focuses on ‘Fairgrounds’. In Technology, we will be desgining and making our own model fairground rides, using a variety of tools and materials. In Science, we will be learning about how light travels and how we use electricitiy as a source of power. In RE, we will be focusing on religious festivals, including visiting places of worship.
Homework expectations include reading at least three times a week and completing a weekly spelling sheet. In addition, children will need to complete one piece of English and Maths homework per week, which should be handed in every Thursday. We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of the Parents/Carers who continue to support their child's learning at home, it really helps them to make even better progress. To support learning at home your children will have login details for both Mathletics and Spellodrome. These websites will allow children to access the spellings and Maths skills we are learning in school.
PE this term will be on a Monday for 6OB, a Tuesday for 6AMc and a Thursday for 6DT. Please ensure your child has their PE kit and water bottle in school on these days.
Thank you for your continued support.
Miss McKenzie, Mr Tamblyn, Miss Bartlett and the Y6 team.
